Zach Miller is the Seahawks' newest toy on offense

Today, the Seattle Seahawks signed Zach Miller to a five year deal worth $34 million, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Miller, despite Oakland's issues at QB while he was there, has put up solid numbers. In four years, Miller has caught 226 balls for 2712 yards and 12 TDs. He's arguably the best young tight end in football right now.

Zach Miller brings tons of versatility to the Seahawks. He brings even more size to an intimidating corps of receivers. If the Seahawks run two TEs and two WRs sets, that would be four potential receivers at 6' 4" or taller with Rice, Williams, Miller and Carlson. Even with question marks at QB, that could be very difficult for defenses to stop. He will also provide a nice security blanket for new Seahawks starter Tarvaris Jackson. I love this move, and I love the way the Seahawks are really attacking this free agency period. There have been hiccups, but I think this team is much better off than they were a few weeks ago.
