SOUNDERS FC: Montero to undergo wrist surgery

Before you panic, let’s remember, soccer is played with the feet and not with the hands. Ahhh (sigh of relief).

According to Joshua Mayers of the Seattle Times, Fredy Montero will reportedly undergo surgery on his wrist. However, he has not yet been ruled out for Saturdays match. Head Coach Sigi Schmid said there is a decent chance Montero will be ready for Saturday.

To Continue...

The injury to the wrist doesn’t seem to be extreme which is a blessing considering the Sounders definitely need their goal scorers out on the pitch, although, Monetero is still scoreless this season. Perhaps missing a game might light a spark in Montero.

If Montero is unable to go, the front line would likely consist of O’brian White and Nate Jaqua. Jaqua provided a great air presence in the match against Houston last Friday. It might be interesting to see how O’brian White and Jaqua work together, but lets not get ahead of ourselves.

While the duo might be something fresh and new, lets not forget what Montero can do. If he is healthy enough he should be out there.

Mike Fucito who has already been battling injury suffered another setback in practice after rolling his ankle, no word yet on how severe this injury is.
