MARINERS BREAKING: Cliff Lee deal to Yankees "just about done"


The Mariners and Yankees are reportedly “very close” to completing a deal that would send All-Star pitcher Cliff Lee to the Yankees in exchange for catching prospect Jesus Montero. According to an executive who is heavily involved with trade talks, the deal to send Lee to New York was “just about done” as of Friday morning.

Lee is scheduled to throw tonight against said Yankees, but will most likely be a last-second pull if an agreement is reached prior to first pitch tonight. Furthermore with Jesus Montero, many scouts all over are projecting Montero to have a long and successful hitting career regardless of if he plays Catcher or First Base.
