SEAHAWKS: Team shows interest in T.O.

Terrell Owens

Seattle placed "exploratory" phone calls to Terrell Owens' representatives this offseason, according to a report on NFL.com.

The article does not report when the phone calls took place nor does it read how heavily Seattle is interested in the 36-year-old free-agent. It can be assumed that interest is minor at this point, although the fact that this information leaked could mean Seattle may be ramping up efforts to attain the star wide receiver. However, that is speculation.

To Continue...

Owens caught for 829 yards last season with five TDs playing for the lowly Bills. To put that into perspective, T.J. Houshmandzadeh had 911 yards with three TDs. Owens has nine seasons of more than 1,000 receiving yards and has been a touchdown machine on his previous stints with the Cowboys, Eagles and Niners.

There's no denying his skill, but you can't talk about Owens without mentioning his cancerous effect on locker rooms. Remember, even the dysfunctional Cowboys released him.

If Seattle signs Owens, it would likely be a modest, stop-gap-like contract because there has been little reported interest in the wideout.
