SEAHAWKS: Branch undergoes arthroscopic knee surgery, to miss first mini-camp

Deion Branch

As the Seahawks enter mini-camp today, one prerequisite had to be met: WR Deion Branch had to miss it.

Yes, folks, Branch has undergone a third surgery on the knee he injured during the playoff loss to Green Bay during the 2007 season.

But don't be too disheartened. The procedure, termed "arthroscopic," yields one of the quickest recoveries for NFL players. Give him about a month to be back on the field running routes full speed.

The procedure means the surgeon views and cleans any loose bodies in the knee, such as damaged cartilage.

As noted by Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times, Branch has missed a total of 15 games since joining Seattle in 2006.
