SEAHAWKS: Former UW receiver Williams cut from team

MyNorthwest.com reports that the Seattle Seahawks have released WR Reggie Williams, as a result of a number of transactions that occurred Friday. In addition to Williams, the ‘Hawks released receiver Victor James, but have signed draft picks from last month including Walter Thurmond, EJ Wilson, and Kam Chancellor.

Williams was signed months ago after trying out for the squad earlier this year. He and Mike Williams were simultaneously signed as receivers to fill up roster spots. Reggie Williams was out of the league during the 2009 season, after being drafted 9th overall by Jacksonville in 2004.
