MARINERS: Erik Bedard scheduled to make season debut July 6

Manager Don Wakamatsu said yesterday that Bedard is scheduled to throw in the Arizona League tomorrow, and will then make a start for the AAA Tacoma Raniers later next week if that goes well. After the rehab start in Tacoma, Bedard will be slotted into the rotation against the Kansas City Royals on July 6th.

Erik Bedard is recovering from major shoulder surgery in August, and has not pitched in a game since then. On Tuesday, Bedard threw for 2.2 innings and allowed one run in his first start for the M’s rookie league team in Arizona.
