MARINERS: M's win first home game of the season 3-0 over A's

The Mariners bounced back after their home opening loss off the right arm of youngster Doug Fister and the bat of Milton Bradley, in a 3-0 win against the Athletics Tuesday evening. The win comes as their first at home in the new 2010 season, and will hopefully set the tone for the remainder of the home-stand.

Mariners' starter Doug Fister arguably pitched the best game of his young career last night, going 8 strong innings allowing only 3 hits en route to the M’s first shutout of the year.

Quite possibly the biggest moment of the night occurred in the bottom of the eighth, when LF Milton Bradley broke his slump by crushing a 3-run bomb deep into the right field seats. The blast broke a the Mariners scoreless inning streak ending at 20 consecutive innings.

The M’s go for the series win tonight against the A’s, scheduled for a 7:15pm first pitch. Seattle will offer LHP Jason Vargas on the mound, opposite lefty Gio Gonzalez for Oakland.
