Charlie Whitehurst
Chargers QB Charlie Whitehurst is contemplating excepting either Seattle's or Arizona's contract offer, Steve Wyche reports, and will make a decision in the next two days.
The Chargers paid Whitehurst a round three tender, meaning any team that wishes to sign him would have to give up a third round pick in this year's draft. The Seahawks have no third round draft picks this season after form GM Tim Ruskell traded up in last year draft to grab WR Deon Butler.

However, the Seahawks have offered the Chargers some other form of undisclosed compensation.
Whitehurst would likely compete for the second string spot along with QB Mike Teel, if Seattle doesn't outright give Whitehurst the spot. Wyche's article suggests Whitehurst might compete for Hasselbeck's starting roll but don't pay much thought to that scenario.
Whitehurst will be entering his fifth season in the NFL. He has previously played as the third string QB behind Phillip Rivers and Billy Volek and has accumulated 0 pass attempts, two games, two rushes and one rushing TD.
He was drafted in the third round at no. 81 out of Clemson in the 2006 draft.
