QB Charlie Whitehurst has been traded to Seattle for a 2011 third round draft pick. Seattle and San Diego will also swap 2010 second round picks, which puts Seattle at 60 and Sand Diego at 40.
The move echos shades of 2001 when then GM-Mike Holmgren traded a third round draft pick for Matt Hasselbeck.

Time will tell whether the sacrifice was worth it. Nine years ago, Seattle traded away a third-round pick for a quarterback who had never started a regular-season game and had attempted all of 29 passes in that time. Not only that, but Seattle gave that guy a new contract.
