SEAHAWKS: Branch "wants Bears"

Deion Branch reportedly wants out of
Seattle. GM John Schneider reportedly
won't let him leave.

Wide Receiver Deion Branch reportedly told an unnamed source that he would like to play for the Bears next year.

Branch was seen in Chicago last Friday, according to the same source.

With Branch set to make $5.75 million this year, many expect the Seahawks to cut the unproductive, injury prone wide out.

The same report also claims that Seahawks GM John Schneider plans on retaining Branch. If Seattle cut Branch this year there would be no salary cap hit because 2010 is shaping up to be an uncapped year.

Branch signed a six-year deal in 2006, which would put his contract's end in 2012. Branch was acquired from the Patriots for a first-round pick.

The deal never amounted to much for the Seahawks because Branch has frequented the sidelines with injury after injury until being relegated to the third wide receiver on the depth chart last season.
